This past prom season, 20 teens in Lynchburg, Tennessee paid $1,800 for a top-of-the-line party bus they saw on a website. Instead, what arrived was a refurbished old school bus. The bus was sub-contracted to another party bus service without telling the teenagers or their parents.
It pays to do your research when it comes to cheap party bus rentals. There’s more to it than just clicking “pay” on a website, and waiting for the bus to show up. Here are three tips for getting the right party bus for your event.
1. Research Companies Online
Online reviews can be a great asset in your search for the right party bus. Past customers can give you a feel for whether the bus matched up to its description, if it came on time, if it was clean, if the price seemed fair, if there was enough room, et cetera. Talking to friends and family about their experiences with party planning can help as well. Have they used a company in the past that provided excellent service? It never hurts to ask.
2. Limo and Party Bus Rentals Prices
How much is a party bus rental? That depends on many factors, including how many passengers you will have, where you’re going, how long you’re going for, and the time of day. Friday night nightclub party buses, for example, will likely be more expensive per hour than a midday wine tasting. For an average sized bus, you can probably plan on it costing between $100 and $200 an hour. Split between many people, this is a fairly reasonable price (possibly not much more than you’d spend on taxi rides!).
3. Can I Bring a Drink on My Party Bus?
It depends on the bus, so this is a question to ask your company of choice before you put money down. Most party buses will allow alcohol so long as all passengers are at least 21 years old. Some party buses will supply alcohol if they have a liquor license, but most will probably have a BYOB policy. Just be careful with your drinks, since excessive messes are likely to result in a clean up fee for your party.
