My all time favorite option for luxury resorts is the all inclusive option. All inclusive means that all of your food and drinks are taken care of, the price is wrapped up into the package for the whole stay, so you do not need to worry about bringing around extra cash just to go to eat. Most all inclusives are huge resorts, so there are several food options, usually with a monster buffet as well, in the vicinity, so that you never actually need to leave the resort.
The only caveat is that you should really read the fine print here. Sometimes the all inclusive only includes certain restaurants, sometimes it only includes non-alcoholic drinks, or does not cover taking one of the paddle boats out. Be sure that you know exactly what you can and cannot do with what you are paying for.
Contrary to common belief, not all vacation resorts are beachfront. In fact, if you are looking to cut down on costs, you can get one that is not located directly on the sand. But is it worth it to drive 15 minutes to go the beach on your vacation just to save a little money? Make sure that, when looking for the details of the resort, that you are choosing the right one with the details that you are actually looking for. If a resort is not on the beach, it may try to only subtly work it into the description.
These are usually adult-only resorts that focus specifically on couples and at least one theme or activity. They are obviously for couples, and can be for honeymoons, or for spicing the relationship back up. You can find them focused around tennis, golf, water skiing, couples massage and spa packages. All to bring you closer to your loved one as you go through the experience together.
